When it comes to the environment, I don’t need convincing to act. The time to act was in 1992 for the Rio Earth Summit. Or 2005 when we implemented the Kyoto Protocol. Or 2015 with the Paris Accords. The Liberal and Conservative governments have done too little and we’ve lost too much time.
So, it’s time to take to the streets. Millions of people across the globe are taking strong action to fight back against inaction.
The fossil-fuel industry wants us to stay home, stay disorganized, and stay vulnerable. I’m ready to turn our focus firmly to action.
The time to act is now. I will be out on Friday to attend the Toronto strike for climate justice alongside other Toronto NDP candidates and hundreds of other young people. Will you join us?
We will meet at 10am at the South East corner of Bay and College and feed into the main rally shortly thereafter.
