Last week I had the pleasure of marching alongside fellow NDP candidates, MPPs, and thousands of everyday people in the Global Strike for Climate Justice.

Climate change is an existential threat. We need leadership in Toronto and across the country that will take this crisis seriously. As your MP for Toronto Centre, I vow to never back down or make compromises on the environment.

The NDP has a plan to:

• End fossil fuel subsidies
• Expand and electrify public transit, and work with cities to offer it fare-free
• Implement energy-efficient building retrofits to reduce energy use
• Create at minimum 300,000 green economy jobs
• Ban single-use plastics
